</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Writes La Canfora, "The Steelers will see how much Mendenhall can do during practice, and he could be back as soon as this weekend." Mendenhall has struggled mightily to open the year, and he didn't get back in the game with what is now supposedly a mild injury. It begs the question of whether the Steelers simply felt better going with Isaac Redman. Now scheduled to face Tennessee's top-eight run defense, Mendenhall will be a risky Week 5 RB2 play.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Beat writer Mike Bires believes both Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring) and Mewelde Moore (high ankle sprain) will sit out this week, turning Redman into a three-down back. In limited action, Redman has been a more decisive runner than Mendenhall this year, averaging 4.9 YPC and 9.0 yards per reception. Tennessee allows the 18th-most fantasy points to opposing backs.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Mendenhall's strain is likely of the Grade 1 variety as the Steelers haven't come close to ruling him out for Sunday. Still, hamstring injuries for running backs are extremely tricky and susceptible to aggravation. We likely won't know much more on Mendenhall's status until much later in the week. Isaac Redman must be rostered in all formats as a likely RB2 play this week.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Mendenhall was expected to test the hamstring in individual drills, and it apparently didn't go as well as hoped. Multiple reports suggest Isaac Redman will carry the load this week against the Titans with Mendenhall likely to sit out entirely.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"We'll see where his participation (in practice) leads us," Tomlin said. "We'll let his level of health and participation in the work week dictate that." Tomlin isn't even sure if Mendenhall will start, so don't go dropping Isaac Redman from fantasy rosters just yet. Barring a setback to Mendenhall, though, Jonathan Dwyer is unworthy of a waiver addition.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>He's practicing fully. While coach Mike Tomlin was noncommittal earlier in the week when asked about Mendenhall's Week 6 workload, that may have been a matter of routine coachspeak. Look for Isaac Redman to return to his change-up role, with Jonathan Dwyer's game-day activity now tenuous. Mendenhall is averaging a career-worst 2.98 yards per carry, but Redman didn't do anything in his Week 5 spot start to justify reducing the starter's role.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"Rashard's the man," said Arians. "He's ready to go and everything will be back to normal." Arians also conceded Mewelde Moore (ankle) will likely miss a second straight game. Jonathan Dwyer may be active, but he's not a good bet to see the field behind Mendenhall and Isaac Redman. Start Mendenhall as a top-15 option against the Jags this week.
